Report: Columbia Prepared To Crack Down On Antisemitism So Long As It Doesn’t Risk Any Of Their Funding From Qatar
NEW YORK, NY – The University of Columbia has finally issued a statement pledging to combat antisemitism on campus – just as long as it does not impact the funding that the school receives from the State of Qatar.
This statement is timely as there has been a flood of antisemitic incidents on campus in the wake of October 7th. Below are just a few examples:
-Jewish students who stated: “We would like to participate in Chess Club regardless of our stance on Israel” were suspended due to microaggression, while Palestinian supporters who barricaded the Low Library chanting “Remove all Jews from Israel immediately and throw them into the ocean” were allowed to continue when they clarified that their intent was non-violent.
-Assistant Professor Shai Davidai was placed under investigation by the University for stating, “I am unequivocally Pro-Palestinian, Pro-Israeli, Pro two-state-solution, Anti-violence and Anti-terror but hey maybe we should enforce our Code of Conduct?”. -A seminar called “The Astounding, Astonishing October 7th” hosted by members of terror-group The PFLP and Iran-affiliated Samidoun ended with students being fitted for Columbia-branded balaclavas on the way out.
It remains to be seen, however, just how realistic it is that these issues will be properly addressed when we don’t know how much funding the university receives from foreign donors.
When we asked this question directly to Columbia administrators, they briefly looked up from a comically large money-counting machine emblazoned with the insignia of the State of Qatar and responded, “Sorry, what? I wasn’t listening”
