Mia Khalifa Filmed Without Hijab

In what is being seen as an affront to conservative Muslim rules of modesty, film-actress and pro-Palestine activist Mia Khalifa has been filmed in public for the first time without wearing her traditional hijab head covering.

The video appears to show Khalifa in a confrontation with a Jewish woman outside of an airport, who repeatedly states “Am Israel Chai” while Khalifa makes classist and antizionist remarks. Most notable, however, is Khalifa’s completely exposed natural hair.

“We cannot have a person who disrespects our faith in such an offensive way represent the Palestinian cause”, said a PA spokesman when reached for comment. “I can assure you that if she ever tried to visit Palestine, she would be most unwelcome for this reason only and definitely not for any other reason related to her past behaviour or films”

In response to the incident, Khalifa released a statement announcing an apology tour through the Middle East: “I think people will really just celebrate me for my activism. They can overlook this minor slip-up and nobody is going to lose their head over this.”
